S.O.A.R. Program
Seeking Opportunities Accessing Resources (S.O.A.R.) is a day program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are 18 years and older who want to increase their independence and participate directly in their local communities. We focus on providing client-centred and client directed group and individualized programming to meet the specific needs of each individual in our program. The goal of our program is to increase our client’s opportunities and to decrease social isolation. We encourage our clients to build a network of peers and social supports.
Specifically, we provide lifeskill training in areas like nutrition, budgeting, socialization, hygiene and employment. We encourage our clients to volunteer or work in the community and find ways to effectively participate in society.
We offer both Government funded and fee based programming at S.O.A.R. Government funded spots are arranged through a DSO-Toronto Region sector priority list. Passport, SSH, ODSP funded and all fee-based spots are available.
